Brooke Williams is joining us! Author of five powerful books from his solitary journeys through nature, he brings us into our own deep inner wilderness as he speaks on The Enchanted Self.
His latest book, Encountering Dragonfly (releasing April 8, and available early at our event), will be weaving some new magic to ask us to venture further into nature, listening for our own encounters.
Join us as Brooke Williams, the final presenter of our season and a pied piper of conscious wonder and inquiry leads us into our own enchanted world.
We sat around the table at our monthly board meeting a year ago. Brooke had popped in for us to meet each other and discuss “possibilities.” It’s how he is. In-person, thoughtful, eternally inquisitive, and far-flung in the vast universe of ideas and deep connection with all the living things of the world.
We laughed, told stories, shared Chris’ amazing cocktails, and found ourselves transported to some alchemical dimension an immeasurable distance from that dining room table… And our own bright-eyed curiosity and wonder have lingered ever since.
How fortunate we are to welcome this dear fellow-traveler on the road of consciousness and possibility. His playground is the natural world, his teachers are dragonflies, his friends are the eons of the earth’s history, good questions, and, by great good fortune, each of us.

About Brooke Williams:
Utah-based author, Brooke Williams, (Instagram: @brookusi) writes about evolution, consciousness, and his own adventures exploring both the inner and outer wilderness. His new book, Encountering Dragonfly chronicles his journey toward re-enchantment by following dragonflies into a new relationship with the natural world, and into conscious evolution of our day-to-day reality.
In his own words…
For most of my life I’ve been passionate about the wild world. Earlier, this meant skiing and climbing in some of the great mountains of America, wandering the cliffs and canyons of the Colorado Plateau or naturalizing in some of the planet’s last great Edens.
Lately, during long solo walks I’ve discovered my own vast and complex inner wilderness. I write in an effort to understand the importance of inner and outer wildness in modern life.
Years ago, after encouragement from my mentor, the great teacher, William Kitteridge, I realized that the one story I would tell over and over again for the rest of my life would be this:
“We live in bodies that are largely unchanged since the Pleistocene, trying to make them work in a world which is vastly different from the one for which evolution designed us. Perhaps acknowledging this is a big step toward solving some of our current problems.”
