The Founding of the Jung Society of Utah
Over 10 years ago Machiel Klerk, LMFT founded our Society from a dream:
“I find myself about 50 yards high above the lake of Zurich. I am looking at Carl Jung’s residential home. His house has a large yard that goes over into the lake. Then I see Carl Jung working on a concrete platform behind his house. This square platform is in the water and touches the wooden dock and his yard. It is not there in daytime reality. I see Jung rearranging wooden beams in the middle and at the borders. After, he sits in a chair on this platform.
Then, it is as if I am watching a movie in which the movie comes to a standstill, and the image becomes black and white. The next moment the platform is gone, and a voice behind me tells me to draw the platform, identical to what it was. I think, ‘I can’t draw,’ but then start and I am surprised about the straight line I create and feel more confident.
I took this dream as a suggestion to create and build a platform for Jungian philosophy, where people can come together to mingle and meet and enjoy lectures in the spirit of Jung. Just as Jung was constantly learning from different cultures and developments in science, I think we should do the same.”
The Jung Society of Utah is a nonprofit, community platform for soulful, collective consciousness.

Code of Conduct
In the event of a complaint about a volunteer or participant’s behavior, especially in the case of boundary violations or discomfort relevant to emotional or physical safety, the board reserves the right to remove a volunteer from their role and/or any future volunteer opportunities, and to ask an attendee to leave and/or not attend future events.
The board acknowledges no obligation to disclose any information about the complaint to the individual in question. Any decision to err on the side of complaints reflects the board’s firm commitment to the safety of our community. All members of our community are expected to behave toward others with the utmost respect, a high degree of self-awareness, and personal accountability.
If you experience an inappropriate interaction at one of our events, we hope you feel safe enough to approach any member of our board so that we are aware.
