Join us as we open Season 15 with a special evening of learning with passionate teachers from our own community!

As we open our season of metamorphosis, we invite you to join us for first annual Back to School Night!

Did you know Carl Jung coined the term synchronicity, or the concepts of introversion and extroversion? Our season of rebirth brought in many new members to our community and we have curated this special, smaller group learning experience to both introduce and reconnect to foundational concepts of Carl Jung’s philosophy and the resulting field of Depth Psychology.

Jared Ray GilmoreA Bird’s Eye View of Carl Jung’s Philosophy by Jared Ray Gilmore

Together we will explore and gain a broad understanding of Jung’s views on consciousness, the collective unconscious, the development of the ego, and the individual unconscious, including the concepts of the shadow and anima/animus. Then, we’ll look at Jung’s tools and approaches for integration, such as dreams, art, meditation and altered states of consciousness.

Bio: Jared Ray Gilmore’s vast array of skills and interests encompasses music, psychology, spirituality, and much more, serving as a diverse and broad foundation for exploring the depths of the human experience. With his background as a music producer, pianist, and composer, Jared combines his technical expertise with his understanding of Jungian psychology to create a unique blend of art and introspection. As an ambassador for Jung Platform, he shares his wisdom through various channels, including TikTok, where he has amassed an engaged following of over 80k people. Join us as we delve into insightful conversations around Carl Jung’s Analytical Psychology, the inner world, the power of dreams, the intersections of spirituality and psychology, and the profound journey towards self-realization.

Mark R. Grandstaff, Ph.D.Self-exploration through Jungian Typology by Mark Grandstaff, PhD

The purpose of this presentation is to make the theory of psychological types described by C.G. Jung understandable and useful in your own life. The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in behavior is quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals use their perception and judgment. You’ll leave with both an understanding of the theory and a Certified MBTI report highlighting your own preferences, to better understand yourself and others.

Bio: Mark R. Grandstaff, Ph.D., has a degree in American History and Institutional Culture from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Having written four books and more than 70 articles, he has taught at Brigham Young University, the University of California at Berkeley, and the University of Maryland. Dr. Grandstaff is a former fellow of the James MacGregor Burns Institute of Strategic Leadership. He is also a Certified Typology Master Practitioner who mentors organizations in the use of the Myers-Briggs (MBTI) for communication and conflict resolution. His most recent book, Reclaiming The Fire: Depth Psychology in Teacher Renewal, introduces the role that Jungian Typology and Archetypal Reflectivity play in overcoming burnout.

Amanda ButlerThe Soul through the Lens of the Anima & Animus by Amanda Butler, LMFT

What did Jung mean when he discussed the soul, and how can the archetypes of the Anima and Animus help us connect more deeply to the life of our soul? This lesson explores Jung’s ideas on soul, anima, and animus, as well as how these relate to our journey of individuation–becoming who we truly are.

Bio: Amanda Butler is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice. She received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara, CA, where she completed an extensive course of study that included Jungian, Archetypal, and Depth Psychology. In addition to being a mental health therapist, she has also written multiple articles on psychology and spirituality.
