Friday Lecture: Using Lucid Dreams to Explore the Self Archetype

What if you could become consciously aware while dreaming—and use that awareness to explore the deepest dimensions of your own psyche.

Lucid dreaming occurs when a person realizes they are dreaming while still within the dream. Scientifically validated in the early 1980s through the pioneering work of Stephen LaBerge and Keith Hearne, lucid dreaming has since become a topic of growing interest among researchers, psychologists, and those exploring the nature of consciousness.

Long before modern science, spiritual traditions including Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, and Indigenous wisdom traditions recognized lucid dreaming as a path to profound insight and personal transformation. By becoming aware within the dream, practitioners sought a deeper understanding of both themselves and the nature of reality.

Carl Jung’s exploration of dreams and the unconscious introduced the concept of the Self—the archetype of wholeness that integrates the conscious and unconscious psyche. Could lucid dreaming provide a unique opportunity to encounter this deeper organizing center of the psyche? Rather than controlling the dream, might we enter into a conscious relationship with the unconscious itself?

Drawing on more than 1,000 lucid dreams and decades of experience, internationally recognized lucid dreaming expert Robert Waggoner will explore these questions while challenging common misconceptions about lucid dreaming. Join us for a fascinating evening as we examine the intersection of modern dream research, Jungian psychology, and the transformative potential of the dreaming mind.

Saturday Workshop: Lucid Dreaming to Promote Emotional and Physical Health

Can lucid dreaming become a tool for healing, insight, and transformation?

In this experiential workshop, internationally recognized lucid dreaming expert Robert Waggoner will explore how experienced lucid dreamers have used lucid dreams to promote emotional healing, personal growth, and even physical well-being. Drawing on decades of experience, Robert will examine both the scientific research surrounding lucid dreaming and compelling case examples that illustrate what may be possible when we consciously engage with the dreaming mind.

Participants will explore the factors that appear to support meaningful change through lucid dreaming, as well as common misconceptions about attempting to “control” dreams. We’ll also examine how many of the same principles can be applied during waking life through greater mindfulness and awareness—a practice Robert calls lucid living.

The workshop includes two guided meditative exercises designed to help participants connect more deeply with the wisdom of the unconscious, whether or not they have previously experienced a lucid dream.

Each participant will also receive Robert’s How to Lucid Dream booklet, featuring practical techniques for developing lucid dreaming skills, recognizing dream awareness, and working intentionally with the dream experience.

Whether you’re completely new to lucid dreaming or have explored it before, this workshop offers an engaging opportunity to deepen your understanding of dreams, consciousness, and the transformative potential of the unconscious psyche.
